History
The Department of English Language Teaching was opened in 2001-2002 academic year. In addition to the undergraduate program, English Language Teaching certificate programs, which were opened in the same academic year, also continued with the task of teacher training. The Department currently has 7 permanent scholars. It is located on Kötekli Campus.
Qualification Awarded
The program offers first cycle (bachelor’s) degree with 240 ECTS in the field of English Language Teaching, one of the branches within the general field of “Teacher Training and Educational Sciences” in the structure of the scientific organization of Higher Education System. Those who have completed the program successfully by gaining its qualifications can hold bachelor’s degree in the field of English Language Teaching (with the title of “English Teacher”) In addition to program’s degree, candidates may hold short cycle certificate degree in English language Teaching by completing minor degree program with 120 ECTS.
Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have a high school diploma and an eligible score from the University Entrance Exam.
Qualification Requirements
Succeed in all the courses in the program (240 ECTS in total), the students are expected to get a grade point average of 2.00 out of 4.00.
Recognition of Prior Learning
The students who study at Mugla Sıtkı Koçman University may be exempt from some courses according to certain regulations. They may be exempt from the courses if the application is in time and the content is approved by the administrative board of the related vocational school/faculty/institute.

1-Possesses theoretical and practical knowledge supported by textbooks with updated information, practice equipments and other resource on basic level based on qualifications gained at secondary education level.
2-Possesses the theoretical knowledge to assess and evaluate programs, teaching strategies, methods and techniques related to the field
3-Recognizes national and international cultures.
4-Interprets and evaluates data, defines and analyzes problems, develops solutions based on research and proofs by using acquired advanced knowledge and skills within the field.
5-Chooses and applies the most suitable strategy, method and technique for the particular group of students considering their developmental and individual needs and the special requirements of the field.
6-Devlops quality materials suitable for the teaching of the field and for the needs of the specific group of students.
7-Assesses and evaluates the development of the students in multiple dimensions using multiple assessment techniques.

Graduation Requirements
To complete the bachelor´s degree in Computer Education and Instructional Technology program the students must successfully complete the required and elective courses (total 240 ECTS) and maintain the minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0/4.0
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates can be employed as English teachers in both public and private schools under the Ministry of National Education. In addition to teaching position, graduates can find positions in Private language learning centers Exam preparations centers Foreign Exchange departments of the banks Import and export business sector Translation offices Tourism field Mass media and Foreign trade companies
Access to Further Studies
Those who have successfully completed the program can attend third cycle programs in the field of English Language Teaching by fulfilling the requirements that obtaining the predetermined scores in Selection Examination for Academic Personnel and Graduate Studies and recognized Language Proficiency Examinations.

The German Language Teaching program started 2005/2006. The first students degreed 2010. The program has a bilateral agreement with the Education University of Schwaebisch Gmünd and many Farabi agreements.
